Mit dieser Monatspost, edler Freund, sende ich eine neue Sammlung Samen an Sie ab,
denkend dass solche Ihnen willkommen sein werden. Die Vermittlung ist durch meine
London Agenten, Mess. C. Blackith & Co, Cox's Quay, Lower Thames Street. Zum Absenden
trockner Museum-Pflanzen ist es einstweilen zu spät geworden, da solche nur mit Segelschiffen
aber nicht mit der Post geschickt werden können u. nun mittlerweile der Winter eingetreten
ist. Meine Schuld soll aber auch in dieser Hinsicht berichtigt werden, wenn die Schiffahrt
von Neuem beginnt.
Für die gesandten vortrefflichen Werke, welche den fortgesetzten regen Eifer für Pflanzen-Wissenschaft
bei Ihnen bekunden, schuldige ich Ihnen ebenfalls meinen besten Dank.
Unserem Freunde Prof. Agardh in Lund, habe ich mit dem Schiffe Anglesey durch meine
London Agenten mehrere grosse Stämme der
im lebenden Zustand gesandt. Sollten Sie diese edle Pflanze noch nicht in einem hohen
Exemplare in Ihrem Conservatorium besitzen, so würde Ihnen gewiss Hr Prof Agardh einen
Stamm ablassen, wenn der Frühling die Schiff-Fahrt wieder möglich macht.

With this month's mail, noble friend, I am dispatching a new collection of seeds to
you with the thought that they will be welcome. The transmission has been arranged
with my London agents, Messrs C. Blackith & Co., Cox's Quay, Lower Thames Street.
Meanwhile it was too late for sending dried museum plants, as these can be sent only
by sailing vessels, not through the mails, and by now winter has come. However, my
debts in this regard shall also be settled when the shipping recommences.
I also owe you sincere thanks for the excellent works sent to me, which bear witness
to your continued lively zeal for botany.
I have sent several large live trunks of
by the ship Anglesey to our friend Professor Agardh in Lund.
Professor Agardh would be sure to let you have a trunk when shipping is once again
possible in spring, should you still lack tall specimens of these noble plants in
your conservatory.
