My dear Baron
I regret to say that I have not been able to answer your note sooner, having a bad attack of gout in my right arm & hand, many thanks for the Characeae Pt 1.

Nordstedt (1891).
If it does not come to more that 20s/ or 30s/ a year I would like to take it — I will try this season to get the Claudea again, we have only had two or three trawling trips, and nothing worthy of mention among the Algae, was obtained.
I have a few specimens put away some where which I will look up the first chance I get but I have no doubt when the warm weather comes around again, as I know the exact spot I shall be able to send you fresh specimens

M had asked frequently for specimens of the alga bearing fruiting bodies since 1882: see M to E. Ramsay 22 September 1882 (in this edition as 82-09-22c); the most recent known request was in M to E. Ramsay, 4 September 1891.
believe me
dear Baron
yours sincerely
