We beg herewith to hand you Invoices (3 in number) of your obliging orders as far as we are at present able to do them — which we have forwarded per Clipper Ship, The Saracen in cases marked as below

Freight of which we have paid , together with other charges as per vouchers enclosed in order to save the extra rate which would be charged at Melbourne of 10/— per ton. We had great difficulty in shipping the Plants, owing to the Captains having an objection to carry them on Deck, we have however succeeded & have Insured them as per your request, & trust they may all arrive in safety & in good condition & be to your entire satisfaction. We enclose also a Bill of Lading,

Received of Dr Ferdd Meuller the sum of Twenty-five pounds seven shillings & nine pence being amount of our a/c against the Bot. Gardens Melbourne for Plants & seeds supplied June 12/58 (less £1.11.6 allowance).

The Invoice attached to this £ 11.11.6 , is made up, to complete your original order of Fifty Pounds - on account of the Bot. Gardens, which account now stands as on the opposite side.
The Seeds & Plants for the Parks & Plantations we have executed as far as the time of year would permit, being obliged to omit the Young Forest Trees, which we will however send off in October, or Novr next, when we think they will reach you in a good season. The amount of Invoice exclusive of Freight being £ 59.16.6 we shall have £ 41 - worth of such Trees &c to send in Autumn unless you intend the One hundred Pounds to be inclusive of Freight, in which case we should be obliged by your informing us, when we can reduce the quantity of Plants accordingly. The Water Cress seeds we found very difficult to obtain, & the 7 1/4 lbs which we have sent, we have had to collect by ounces from various parties, but we will give orders for the balance of the 28lbs so as to get it in for the Sewerage Committee by the time we are next sending to you.
We have noticed in several of your letters that you advise £100 having been remitted to us by the Dept of Public Works. The said Remittance however has not yet reached us, which gives us some little anxiety fearing it may have miscarried. It has occurred to us as probable that we ought to apply to some of the Government Officials here about it, & we have accordingly written the Colonial Department to enquire if it is effected through them, but have not yet received their reply, however we hope it is allright = whichever way it may be.
