Bester Neujahrsgruss Ihnen, lieber Herr Tepper.

No closing quotation mark.

Best New Year greetings to you, dear Mr Tepper. Another small present has been sent to you.
Would you do me the favour of asking in the German Consulate there whether one or two years ago an atlas of photographs of the Elder Expedition was able to be obtained for Hofrath Perthes in Gotha. He asked me for it for his journal Geogr. Mittheilungen.

Petermann's geographische Mitteilungen. M to A. Supan, 14 January 1894, reports asking the German consulate to supply the copy of Lindsay (1893) forwarded to Supan. Photographs are not mentioned.
However, despite all my efforts and private expenditure for the Elder Expedition, I have never myself received a copy.

The photographs are presumably those in the two albums of photographs taken during the Elder Scientific Expedition now at the State Library of South Australia, catalogued with the corporate author 'Royal Geographical Society of Australasia. South Australian Branch'. No published version has been found. The albums have been digitised by the State Library of South Australia, https://collections.slsa.sa.gov.au/resource/B+499 and https://collections.slsa.sa.gov.au/resource/B+8442/1-36 .
Would Dr Brown
