Besten Dank, lieber Herr Tepper, für die Bemühung wegen der Auskunft, welche man in Canada über unsere artesische Brunnen wünscht. Ich habe nun direct an Mr Jones geschrieben. Hiermit einige Sämereien, welche Ihren Sohn in WA willkommen sein sollten.

Ich bezweifle, dass der Pilz den Sie u Mr M'Alpine als ein neues genus beschrieben haben, von verschieden ist. Jetzt hat Saccardo Diagnose von 40000 Pilze gegeben u ist gewagt etwas Mycologisches ohne Confirmation eines europäische Specialisten zu veröffentlichen. So ist es mit Algen, Moosen u Flechten auch. Wir haben weder zulänglich Bibliotheken noch genügenden Vergleichungs Material für in Australien.

I doubt that the fungus that you and Mr McAlpine have described as a new genus

Laccocephalum was erected as a genus by McAlpine, and the species L. basilapiloides is described under joint authorship in McAlpine & Tepper (1895), a paper read to the Royal Society of Victoria on 12 July 1894.
