Dr Selwyn
to whom kind note of Nov 4th is addressed,
is at present in England, but I have much pleasure in thanking you on his behalf
& that of the Survey for the information & printed papers on [artesian borings] which
you have so kindly [obtained]

May I also ask you to [convey] our thanks & acknowledgements to Mr [Stuart Massey]
for the [trouble he has] taken in supplying the notes which accompany your letter.
All the [material sent] together with the further [facts] you allude to from other
Australian colonies will be of essential service [to us] as efforts are now being
made in the direction of irrigation & well sinking in various parts of the North West
Territories.
