Heute, hochgeehrter Herr, kann ich die freudige Mittheilung machen, dass es mir endlich gelungen ist, eine Dame für Algen-Sammeln an der Champion-Bay zu interessiren, Miss Beddois, u erhalten Sie die erste Zusendung durch diese Wochen Post in 3 Päckchen. Gewiss werden Sie diese junge Dame ermuthigen zum Fortsammeln, indem Sie Ihr eine oder mehr der etwa neuen Arten ihr dediciren, u gewiss werden Sie auch meiner eignen Mühe gedenken. Champion Bay u die nahe gelegenen Inseln scheinen die nördlichste Plätze an der Westküste Australiens für die südlichen Formen zu sein.
Ich bin auch so glücklich jetzt einen Algen-Sammler an der von mir 1860 sehr unvollständig erforschten Twofold-Bay zu haben, wo die Grenze der südlichen Formen an der Ostküste Australiens ist.
Obwohl Mr Wilson und ich zu Prof. Toni's Bestrebungen für Ihr Jubiläum beigetragen haben, möchte ich doch speciell zu diesen schönen Feste meine Felicitation darbringen! Mögen Sie noch lange als Grossmeister in Ihrer Lieblings Wissenschaft uns erhalten bleiben!

Today, highly esteemed Sir, I can joyfully inform you that at last I have succeeded in interesting a lady at Champion Bay,

Beddoes? One of the four daughters of G. K. E. Beddoes, manager for Roadhurst & McNeill on the Abrolhos islands, WA?
in collecting algae, and you will receive the first consignment by this week's post in 3 small parcels. Undoubtedly you will encourage this young lady to continue collecting by your dedicating one or more of the perhaps new species to her, and certainly you will also remember my own effort. Champion Bay and nearby islands seem to be the northernmost places on the west coast of Australia for the southern forms.
I am also now fortunate enough to have an algae collector on Twofold Bay

— explored by me very incompletely in 1860—where the boundary of the southern forms is on the east coast of Australia.
