Let me express my best thanks, dear Mons Autran, to Mr Barbey and yourself, for having
sent me the commencement of the new periodic publications, emanating from the collections
of Boissier.
This promises to be a most
important
Serial, and one also of perpetuity. I will forward from time to time publications
of mine, as they appear, also small packages of dried plants, so far as they can be
sent by post. I will endeavour also to send former works of mine, as opportunities
arise.

Bulletin de l'Herbier Boissier.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller
What a loss that of the great Alph. de Candolle! I gave on the 8th May an oration
in his memory at the Victorian Field-Naturalists-Club, of which I am Patron.
He wrote after nearly 40 years correspondence a most touching letter only to me
two weeks
before his death.

A. de Candolle to M, 17 March 1893.
It will afford me particular pleasure, to contribute occasionally to the Bulletin
of the Herbier de Boissier. I can do so in the French language, but can write more
fluently and quickly in English, German and Latin.
