I find, dear Dr Bride, that the 9th volume of Saccardo's Sylloge fungorum,

Saccardo (1882-1931); vol. 9 was published on 15 September 1891.

yesterday sent to the public Library, where it was wanting, was already paid for by my Department . So I can transfer it to your institution without cost to the trustees.

This information was forwarded to H. Irving on 16 September 1892, who replied on 20 September: 'Work received & acknowledged'. A few weeks earlier, in sending another volume of the work, just received, to the Library, M had asked that, in view of the savage reduction in his department's budget, the Library might pay for it; see M to T. Bride, 19 August 1892 (in this edition as 92-08-19a).
