Herewith, dear Mr. Wilson, I beg to send a bound copy of the volume on Acacias and
allied genera
for the kind acceptance of our honorable Chief. It was ready for some time, but the
binding became delayed. Will
you
kindly present it to our honorable Chief, as I do not like to go out yet, my foot
giving still some pain on walking about.
I should gladly have sent also a copy of the volume to your self, in recognition of
all your generous consideration; but I can only obtain it on ministerial order, so
that you could readily obtain it yourself. If you however prefer, I will send a requisition
for getting the work for your office.
1
That is, a presentation copy comprising B87.13.04 and B88.13.01; decade 13, the final
one, was ready to distribute in August, see M to E. Thomas, 1 July 1888 and notes thereto.
2
M fell from a Melbourne tram on 31 July; see M to T. Wilson, 1 August 1888.
Regardfully always your
Ferd. von Mueller.
I shall finish this week the

or rather
Flora

end of the descriptions

and preface.

double
that of Britain, not to be brought out with any prospect of use at less than 560 pages. Will you kindly let Mr. Deakin know.
The 7th Edit. of the Select plants (enlarged)
will be out in 2 weeks.
