MS annotation by Tepper: 'Rec'd 3.7.88 Reply with 2 sp & 2 copies Plants K.I. 4.7.88'. Letter not found, but M acknowledged receipt of the plants in M to O. Tepper, 7 July 1888 (in this edition as 88-07-07b).

That is a fine contribution to the knowledge of the plants of Kangaroo Island

SA.
from you, dear Mr Tepper.

Tepper (1888). The paper was read to the Royal Society of South Australia substantially earlier, on 4 November 1886; the volume of the Transactions in which it appeared was reported as received, and reviewed, in South Australian register, 21 August 1888, p. 5. Tepper was evidently able to send M a copy of his paper before the volume was released.
It seems that when all plants are known, Kangaroo Island will number almost as many phanerogams as England, Scotland and Ireland taken together. The inhabitants should be encouraged in every way to further collecting.
Always your
Ferd. von Mueller.
Please give best greetings to Mr Krichauff, should you meet the splendid man as a neighbour. Have you another specimen of to give away?

There are three specimens of tatei at MEL, all collected by Tepper from Kangaroo Island in 1886.
