Besten Dank, edler Freund, für die Güte, soviel Ihrer Zeit meinen letzten Flechten zugewandt zu haben! Möge die göttliche Vorsehung Ihnen Kraft und Gesundheit durch viele Jahre noch erhalten, so dass Sie Ihre grossen Arbeiten beenden können zum Nutzen aller Zeiten! Ich kam nicht dazu, am 12tn Band der Fragmente weiter zu arbeiten, da neben meinen gewöhnlichen Amtspflichten mich die Arbeiten für die London Ausstellung sehr in Anspruch nahmen, zumal da ich auch als Präsident der Vict. Abtheilung der geograph. Gesellschaft von Australien seit vielen Monaten Manches zu thun hatte, besonders für die Förderung der Erforschung Neu Guineas. Von dort sollten doch auch nach u nach viel Flechten kommen, besonders aus den höheren Bergregionen. Haben Sie dort auch eine geogr. Ges.? Dann könnte ich einen Abdruck der Präsidenten Rede senden (etwa 20 Seiten Druck) welche ich neulich hielt.

Hr Prof Lojka, der mich um Flechten gebeten hatte, erhielt eine Kleinigkeit von mir. Da Sie aber so munter fort arbeiten, soll Ihnen in Zukunft Alles wieder zugehen, es sie denn das Allergewöhnlichste aus der Nachbarschaft ausgenommen.

Endlich sind auch die 76 Quartplatten der austr Myoporinen gedruckt. Ich habe 4 X mehr Arten als AD.C. im prodr vor 40 Jahren verzeichnen konnte.

occupied me, especially since I also had much to do as president of the Victorian branch of the Geographical Society of Australia for many months, particularly for the promotion of exploration of New Guinea. From there many lichens certainly should also come by and by, particularly from the higher mountain regions. Have you also a geographical society there? Then I could send an offprint of the presidential address (about 20 printed pages) that I recently gave.

Professor Lojka, who has asked me for lichens, received a trifle from me. But because you continue working so vigourously, all shall go to you again in the future, unless the most common of all from the neighbourhood are excepted.
