Wie Sie ganz richtig bemerken, lieber Herr Tepper, Ihre Pflanzen von der Känguruh-Insel
konnten nur willkommen sein als von einer ungewöhnlichen Fundstelle; leider waren
Sie in der ungünstigster Jahreszeit da. Ich habe das letzte Heft der R.S. of S.A nicht
zur Hand, da ich mein Bureau unter das gastliche Dach eines ärztlichen Freundes verlegt
habe, um unter dessen beständiger Obhut zu sein. Ich kann also nicht erinnern oder
nachsehen, ob unter dem von Ihnen zugesandte etwas für die Insel neu ist.
Mein Husten ist noch immer recht schlimm, aber der Apetit, der sich seit Monaten verloren,
scheint sich etwas wieder einzustellen. Indessen bin ich doch recht schwach geworden.
Hoffend dass es Ihnen recht wohl ergehe, bin ich der Ihre
Ferd. von Mueller.
Die Pflanzen, welche Sie bereits bennant, habe ich nicht notirt.
ist auf die Ostseite Australiens beschränkt, u erreicht nicht einmal Victoria. Die
hohe Xanthorrhoea auf der Käng. Ins. ist wohl Form einer gewöhnlich niedigeren
Pflanze

As you quite correctly remark, dear Mr Tepper, your plants from Kangaroo Island
can only be welcome as from an unusual locality; unfortunately you were there in
the most unfavourable time of the year. I do not have the last part of the Royal Society
of South Australia to hand, because I have transferred my office under the hospitable
roof of a physician friend
to be under his constant care. Therefore I cannot remember or look up whether there
is anything new for the island among that sent by you.
My cough is still very bad, but the appetite that was lost for months seems to be
somewhat set right again. Meanwhile I have become very weak indeed.

The plants that you named already I have not noted.
is restricted to the east side of Australia and does not even reach Victoria. The
tall Xanthorrhoea on Kangaroo Island is probably a form of the common smaller plant.
