MS annotated by J. H. Willis: 'Removed from folder of Bauhinia acuminata, 15/7/1968 | JHW' and '(1883)'. Neither the folder nor the basis of Willis's dating can now be identified with certainty, but the folder may have been MEL 69666, a specimen collected in 1883 (see also E. Fitzalan to M, 3 June 1883, found with this specimen and removed by Willis at the same time as the present letter).
