The Baron von Mueller
Dear Sir
I will send you during the ensuing week a first lot of about 25 specimens of woods as per sample and will go on getting more until I hear from you as to whether they are what you want from your last letter

you imply that you want more than one specimen of each sort — If so please send a telegram as while I am getting specimens I might as easily get three as one — — By my cutting them out as I have done instead of sending them in blocks much cost of freight will be saved and the work of dressing in Melbourne will be less — I dare say I can get as many as 100 species I will forward dried specimens of all of them numbered like the blocks — some of the samples will be very beautiful as I polished 20 specimens on one side and sent to an Agricultural & Industrial show in the North and got a Silver Medal for them
I enclose a pod of the little white

to send down to me —
I will keep my eyes about me for specimens of other things when I am out after timbers
yours respectfully
