Letter not found. The text given here is from Bulletin del la Société d'acclimatation, series 3, vol. 6 (1879), p. 448. It is dated to May as the latest likely date that it could have been sent to be announced at the meeting of the Council of the Society held on 25 July 1879.
[M. Raveret-Wattel dépose sur le bureau des graines de plusieurs espèces d' et de quelques autres végétaux utiles de l'Australie. Ces graines sont envoyées à la Société par M. le baron Ferd. Von Mueller, dont le zèle et l'extrême générosité à l'égard de notre Société ne se démentent pas un instant. [Mr. Raveret-Wattel places on the table seeds of several species of and some other useful vegetables of Australia. These seeds are sent to the Society by Baron Ferd. Von Mueller, whose zeal and extreme generosity towards our Society do not fail for a moment. To this letter are attached notes intended to accompany the work that our learned colleague has published under the title of Select plants , &c.

Probably B78.07.03, published as the 'Third supplement' in the series in the Proceedings of the Zoological and Acclimatisation Society of Victoria, but acting as a supplement to the consolidated and amplified work, based upon the previous parts in the Proceedings, that was issued as B76.12.04. The gift of a copy of B76.12.04 to the Society was announced at the meeting of 13 December 1878; see Bulletin de la société d'acclimatation, ser 3, vol. 5 (1878), p. 861; Prospero Ramel made the gift on behalf of the Victorian Commissioner to the Paris Universal Exhibition, which had closed in November.
