muss die Gelegenheit des Sendens wahrnehmen, wie es hin passt. Nach meiner Anordnung haben meine Agenten diese Sendung ganz bis Gothenburg frankirt, so dass Ihnen nur die geringen Agenturkosten in Gothenburg u der Transit nach Lund andererseits in Schweden zu gerechnet werden. Ich bemerke dies, um etwaige Widersprüche verständlich zu machen. Es sollte dies ein freies Privatgeschenk sein. Beunruhigen Sie sich also wegen einer Gegengabe nicht.
Wenn Sie die Algen der grossen Kiste u kleinere Sammlung durchzusehen Zeit u Vergnügen finden, so bitte ich um die Rückgabe eines Exemplares für unsere Staatssammlung, da mir Algen aus der Hand des ersten Meisters der Zeit hier für immer willkommen u werthvoll sind.
Sollten sich alle sieben Dicksonien erholen (durch Bodenwärme u vollauf Wasser unter Glas) dann könnten Sie dem guten Nachbarn Dr Lange wohl einen Stamm ablassen, auch einen nach Stockholm liefern u vielleicht nach Christiania oder Upsala.

Mit der Monatspost sende ich Ihnen eine kleine Anzahl Algen, welche Miss Bunbury am Port Leschenault in Westaustralien sammelte.

Nachdem dieser Brief geschrieben kommt Ihre Sendung von Schriften an, für die ich inständig danke, namentlich für die schöne Arbeit über die Algen der Chatham Inseln.
Das Packet an Mr Ronald Gunn in Launceston ist sogleich weiter befördert. Ich lasse jetzt einen Sammler auch nach Algen suchen in Lord Howe's Group.
Sind Ihnen Algen Arten Australiens bekannt, welche weder in Harv. phyc. noch in Sonder's Schrift vorkommen?

With the last monthly mail, esteemed Professor, I received the news from my London agents (Blackith & Co), that the seven beautiful trunks of

left by the Prinz Oscar early in November and thus ought to escape the frost . One has to seize the opportunity of transport as it arises. In accordance with my instructions, my agents have sent this consignment free all the way to Göthenburg, so that only the small expense for the agency in Gothenburg and the transport to Lund on the other side of Sweden will fall to your account. I mention this to clear up any possible contradictions. This is meant to be a free gift . Therefore do not worry about a reciprocal gift.
When you have found time and inclination to look through the algae in the large case and the smaller collection, I would ask you for the return of one specimen for our State collection, as algae from the hand of the greatest master of our time will be welcome and precious here for all time.

The packet for Mr Ronald Gunn in Launceston has immediately been forwarded. I am having a collector on Lord Howe Island search also for algae.
