Sir
I have the honor to express my best thanks for your attentive reply to my letter,
in which I expressed the desirability that phytological collections might be formed
in Arnhem's Land during the intended survey. Since I now perceive, that already very
thoughtfully preliminary arrangements are made for this purpose of collecting, I would
merely express my willingness to give an accurate account of such collections, if
a full set of specimens is kindly granted to my department after the return of the
survey-party.

See G. Goyder to M, 21 October 1868, replying to M to G. Goyder, 6 October 1868.

On 12 November 1868, Goyder minuted: 'Reply that [care will be taken to ensure Dr
Schomburgk having the whole of the collection under deleted] & that in all cases where duplicates can be collected they will be secured'. A further
note dated 17 November states: 'Acted on'.

I have the honor to be
