It has been decreed by His Royal Highness, the Grand Duke,
my most gracious Master, following the reports made to His Highness on the valuable
gifts made by you with great liberality to the Museum of the University of Rostock
during the last summer,
to designate you a Knight of the Grand-Ducal House Order of the Wendish Crown as
a token of His Highness' gratitude that you, a Mecklenburger by birth, have retained
for your homeland such an active interest, and in recognition of your other merits
in the field of science, and I, as Chancellor of this Order, hereby discharge the
pleasant duty of transmitting the enclosed insignia and with it the certificate issued
to you,
also a printed copy of the statutes of the Order and a form to supply the information
that is to be entered into the register of the Order, and I ask that you will kindly
fill out and return this form.
