My very dear Professor.
I take the earliest opportunity of informing you, that I have through a friend, Mr. Stephen of Geelong, forwarded to you the parcels of , which accidentally came into my hands, but were destined for your herbarium.

He left by the "Lord Raglan" a few weeks ago & will soon after his arrival in England cross the Atlantic.
He has also charge of a few papers for you, I think also of the report on the Burdekin plants,

That I formed a new genus of , i.e. , will interst you. When returning from my autumnal journey I shall sort the vast amount of specimens I have to give away, & certainly I will pay then my debt to the excellent men, who so liberally have enriched our public herbarium with N. American species.
