Bot. Garden 27. July 1857
My dear Mr Gregory.
With these lines I wished to introduce to you the enterprising navigator of the Murray,
Capt Cadell, who has done so much for the advancement of the Australian South.
I had nearly taken the field of exploration again, Capt Freeling having spontaneously
offered to me to be his companion,
but I am too involved in work now at this moment, to be able to make myself free.

with your own views. —
