My dear Mr Gregory.
Some difference in opinion has arisen between some of my scientific friends as to
the origin of the drawings seen by Sir George Gray on the N. W. coast. As you have
read the work of Gray,
please would you favor me with your opinion, whether these are to be regarded as
the work of the natives or as the work of an other race.
