M to A. Möller, 12 July 1883 seems to be the earliest suggestion of a Portuguese edition, presumably with an eye on the Brazilian market, a consideration that is made explicit in M to A. Möller, 18 May 1885. Henriques had agreed to do the translation by 1889; see M to J. Henriques, 3 May 1889 (in this edition as 89-05-03b). M asked about progress in a letter to Henriques of 29 January 1895. For some species the text of the translation includes information that first appeared in B88.13.02.
