Vor einigen Wochen, geehrter Herr Möller, sandte ich Ihnen durch die Agentur des Mr Tate ein Packet getrockneter Pflanzen, welches wohl vor diesem Briefe angekommen sein wird. Die Fracht ganz bis Coimbra war bezahlt.

Ich werde Ihnen demnächst Holzproben senden, auch mancherlei zool. Exemplare und vielleicht Schädel . Solche sind jetzt nach dem Aussterben der Eingebornen in naheren Gegenden schwer zu erhalten, denn die alten Grabstätten sind ausgebeutet.

Affen giebt es in Australien nicht.

Mehr trockne Pflanzen können nach u nach folgen, wenn überzählige Exemplare hier vertheilt werden. Ist es nicht der Mühe für Sie werth, sich mit Jemand in Rio de Janeiro in Verbindung zu setzen, ob die brasil. Regierung nicht das Erscheinen einer portugiesische Ausgabe meiner "Select plants" nach Ihrer Übersetzung übernehmen würde vielleicht in der Gouvernements Imprimerie von Rio, zum Vertheilen an öffentliche Anstalten in dem ganzen grossen Lande, auch zum Verkauf. Jedenfalls möchte ich aber keine solche Anfrage in Lissabon.

that will probably have arrived before this letter. The freight was fully paid to Coimbra.

I will soon send you timber samples, also various zoological specimens and perhaps skulls . Such are now hard to get in closer regions after the extinction of the Aborigines, because the old burial grounds are depleted.

There are no monkeys in Australia.

More dried plants can gradually follow, when surplus specimens here are distributed. Is it not worth the trouble for you to communicate with someone in Rio de Janeiro, whether the Brazilian Government would not undertake the publication of a Portuguese edition of my Select plants from your translation,
