Diesmal, lieber Herr Tepper, kann ich noch nicht Ihren gütigen letzten Brief beantworten, da nach der Arbeit für die 9tn Ausgabe der Select Plants hier noch sehr viel in Rückstand liegt. Es ist aber jetzt für Cultur Versuche im Grossen an mich die Anfrage ergangen, ob ich wohl gereifte Samen (also Früchte) von

Atriplex semibaccatum

leifern kann zu einem mässigen Preis. Wie ich in S.A. war, wuchs diese Pflanze ziemlich häufig auf der Adelaider Ebene, u so mag es noch jetzt sein, so dass unter Ihrer Aufsicht vielleicht ein Hülfsbedürftiger die Früchte sammeln könnte. Sollten Sie dies anordnen können, dann möchte vieleicht eine Probe gemacht werden, damit der Preis pr lb. (trocken) festgestellt werden könnte.

The request for seeds has not been found. See also M to O. Tepper, 2 September 1895.

When I was in South Australia this plant grew reasonably commonly on the Adelaide Plains, and so it may be now still, so that under your supervision perhaps a needy person could collect the fruits. Should you be able to arrange this, then perhaps a test might be made, so that the price per pound (dry) could be established.
