Since a long time, dear Prof. Lange, I intended to write to you; but in the busy departmental
life in a young colony it is difficult, to do all, that could be wished. I have however
born
you
always in most friendly remembrance, not only in connection with the Danish Flora,
but also in reference to Spanish plants, recorded in your and Willkomm's great work,
irrespective of my reminiscences of your great kindness to me through many years
and so again also quite recently. —

Willkomm & Lange (1861-80).
My object in writing now to you, my honored friend, is to ascertain
which of my works
are contained in the Library of the Kopenhagen Academy, into which I became recently
and so generously elected.
It may perhaps be possible, to complete more yet the series of these books. I will
endeavour also, to send a Giant
, but none is left known to me now as available, so that it may only be next year
that one more will be discovered.
Failing in that I must send to Kopenhagen
2 smaller caudices
, which could be placed in the Conservatory close together, so as to give an idea
of a gigantic one.

Remember me kindly to Etatsrath Steenstrup, whom I met personally with Oerstedt and
Forchhammer at the "Versammlung der Naturforscher und Aerzte" in Kiel 1846.
