Besten Dank für ihren Brief von 14/7. Die Zehnte Art wird Ch. scoparia subspec. Mülleri sein. Wie Sie sehen bin ich wie A Braun geneigt "Subspecies" aufzunehmen. Ch. Leptopitys subsp. subebracteata betrachtete ich zuerst als eigene Art, da ich keine bractea fand; aber da ich später fand dass eine solche mitunter sich wirklich entwickeln kann, sie den Ch. Leptopitys sehr nahe kommt, scheinte es mir am passende sie als subspecies aufzunehmen. Sie wird doch wie die übrigen Species selbständig beschrieben werden. Dr. Migula, der die Characeen für de Tonis Sylloge algarum bearbeitet, schreibt mir dass er sie als gute Art betrachtet. Wirklicher Varietäten werde ich immer unter die respectiven Arten aufnehmen.

Der Lithograph hatte — eigenthümlich genug — die Tafeln nicht in Reihenfolge zur Ausfuhrung genommen sondern ein Correctur d[…] der Tafl IX (Ch Lept x subspec.) und anderen zuerst gesandt. Tafl. IX ist desshalb warscheinlich jetzt schon gedruckt werden. Ich weiss nicht wie ich die Tafeln an Sie senden soll, hier von Schweden kann man keine internationalle Postpakete in 3 Kilo nach Australien wie nach Deutschland senden. Vielleicht geht es von Deutsch. […] leichter. Ich sende anbei 2 Quittungen die beinahe so viele Tafeln […] sind und Sie werden können mir das Geld zu senden bis ich noch 2 Quittungen eingesandt habe - oder alles fertig ist.

Ich vermute dass das Geld durch Postorder nicht direct nach Lund gesandt werden kann (sondern nach jemand in Deutschland oder England) oder durch einen Wechsel a London. Dann wird es am besten alle £38 auf einem zu senden.

The tenth species will be Ch. scoparia subspecies Mülleri. As you will see, I am inclined like A. Braun to admit "subspecies". At first I regarded Ch. leptopitys subsp. subebracteata as a separate species, since I found no bracts, but since I later found that one such now and then can really develop them, it comes very close to Ch. leptopitys, it seemed to me appropriate to admit it as a subspecies. It will be described indeed like the remaining species separately. Dr. Migula, who worked on the Characeae for de Toni's Sylloge algarum,

that he regards it as a good species . I shall always admit genuine varieties under the respective species.

The lithographer had — peculiarly enough — not taken the plates in order for execution but […] a correction of plate IX (Ch. lept x subspec.) and sent others first. Plate IX has therefore probably now already been printed. I do not know how I am to send the plates to you. No international-post parcels at 3 kilograms can go from Sweden to Australia as they can to Germany. Perhaps it will go […] more easily from Germany. I am enclosing two receipts that […] nearly as many plates and you will [not] be able to send me the money until I have sent in another two receipts — or everything is finished.

I suspect that the money cannot be sent directly to Lund by postal order (but to someone in Germany or England) or by a draft on London. So it will be best to send all £38 in one.
