Erlauben Sie mir, lieber Herr Tepper, Ihre gewohnte Gefälligkeit wieder in Anspruch zu nehmen. Die Firma Heyne & Co. hat mir 2 lb Samen von Euc. corynocalyx gesandt, die ich bestellt hatte nach dem Empfang der ersten Sendung auf Ihre damalige Vermittlung. Da nun die europäischen Anstalten, mit denen ich in Verbindung stehe, hohen Werth auf den Empfang von Eucal. Samereien legen, die als benannt von mir kommen, so sende ich nie solche Samen dahin, ohne vorher nach einem Frucht-Zweig den Namen bestätigt oder geändert zu haben.

Ich wandte mich daher schon vor mehreren Wochen an die Firma Heyne & Co., bittend mir ein kleines Stück Ast in einem Brief-Couvert zu besorgen, von einem der Bäumen, welche den mir zugeschickten Samen geliefert haben. Aber, zu meiner Verwunderung, ist bisher ein solches Stück nicht eingetroffen. Die Samen sind bezahlt. Die Samen werden wohl ganz richtig gesammelt sein; aber da Euc.-Samen in vielen Fällen sehr ähnlich sind, möchte ich doch ganz sicher gehen u Sie nun bitten nachzufragen. Wenn die Firma mir also in deren eignen Interesse nicht gerecht wird, werde ich in Zukunft nichts mehr von selbiger beziehen. Gesetzt, die Samen wären von einer andere Art, dann konnte ich solche ja doch nach Änderung des Namens noch verwerthen.

that I had ordered after the receipt of the first consignment at that time on your arrangement.

Since now the European institutes with which I am in communication lay high value on the receipt of Eucalyptus seeds that come as named by me , I never send such seeds there without having confirmed the name or changed the name beforehand according to a fruit branch.

I therefore turned to the firm of Heyne & Co. several weeks ago,

asking to get me a small piece of twig in an envelope of one of the trees that had produced the seeds sent to me. But to my astonishment up to now such a piece has not arrived. The seeds are paid for. The seeds were probably quite correctly collected; but since Eucalyptus seeds are in many cases very similar, I should really like to be quite sure and now request you to make inquiries. Thus if the firm in their own interests do not do justice to me, I shall in future procure nothing more from them. If the seeds were of another species, then I could still make use of them after changing the name.
