Seit längerer Zeit, lieber Herr Holtze, bin ich so sehr in Anspruch gewesen, neben meinen gewöhnlicheren Arbeiten, theils durch die Colonialausstellungs Sache, theils durch die Neu Guinea Exploration, dass meine Correspondenz sehr in Rückstand kam; so weiss ich wirklich nicht, ob ich Ihnen die Namensliste Ihrer letzten Sendung bereits sandte. Um ganz sicher zu sein, sende ich nun die Namen.

Unter Ihren Pflanzen ist noch manches Neue , was ich gern beschreiben möchte; aber es fehlen an den zurückgelegten Exemplaren entweder die Blüthen oder die reifen Früchte, so dass in manchen Fällen nicht einmal das Genus mit Sicherheit genannt werden kann.

In Ihrer zweit letzten Sendung war eine ähnliche Pflanze, aber mit kleinen Blüthen, ganz bedeckelt wie bei .

Das Genus kann nicht in von Java gestellt werden, auch nicht vermuthlich in von den Südseeinseln. Nun habe ich von Capt. Everill's Expedition eine ähnliche Pflanze eben auch ohne Frucht . Könnte nicht mit einiger besonderer Anstrengung durch Sie die reife Frucht Ihrer Art bald herbeigeschafft werden? pr Post .

that my correspondence has fallen much into arrears. Therefore I really do not know, whether I already sent you the list with the names of your last consignment. I am sending the names now , to be quite certain.

There is still much that is new among your plants, that I should like to describe; but the specimens I laid aside lack either flowers or ripe fruits, so that in some instances not even the genus can be determined with certainty.

In your transmission before the last one was a plant resembling ,

but with small flowers and a complete operculum as in .

The genus cannot be placed in from Java, probably also not in from the South Sea islands. I now have a similar plant from Captain Everill's expedition, likewise without fruit . Would it not be possible to procure ripe fruit of your species soon with some special effort on your part? per post .
