30/8/83
It is very kind of you, dear Dr Bride, to think of Mr Fischer's offer.
1
The publisher Theodor Fischer. See M to T. Bride, 29 March 1883 (in this edition as 83-03-29c); M to T. Bride, 26 June 1883 (in this edition as 83-06-26a); and T. Bride to M, 29 August 1883 (in this edition as 83-08-29a).
I hope, that the trustees at all events will secure some of the now available addenda to the Cassel-Issues, especially as Mr Fischer is likely to make a considerable reduction in the price as a favor to the Library.
2
The Library decided on 24 September 1883 to order the works in question, and M was notified of this; see T. Bride to M, 26 September 1883 (in this edition as 83-09-26a).
Herewith I beg to send you A D.C.'s "l'origine des plantes cultivées."
3
A. Candolle (1883).
I have a presentation-copy from the illustrious author, with whom I have been in correspondence for nearly 30 years; so I can spare the copy, ordered from my London-Bookseller.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
