By this steamer (Howard Smith & Co) I am sending some specimens of Zamia from Fraser Island

which appear to be different from the E. Douglasii

Encephalartos douglasii.
The smaller specimens are wrapped in an inner rag and I should like you to examine their roots carefully as there appears to be a sort of Seed growing from them.
The leaves of these specimens instead of growing straight like the Douglasii thus

and the leafstalk appears rounder, but it is possible they may only be young specimens of the Douglasii
I send also a few leaves of the Douglasii for comparison, they are tied up separately, but I am afraid they will be much faded and dried up by the time you get them.
None of the specimens I found were larger than those I send and they do not look full grown plants, the leaves are few compared with the E. Douglasii
