In 1881, Easter fell on 17 April.
The Eremophila, sent by you, dear Prof Tate, is a tomentose form of the true E. viridiflora,

Given, without description, as E. viridifolia in Tate (1880), p. 79. M had used it as a variety name: MEL 82358 is labelled by M as var viridiflora, and there is a specimen of the variety at Kew, K961392, also with a label by M, and with one of Bentham's Flora australiensis labels, recognising it as a variety named by M; see Bentham (1863-78), vol. 5, p. 28. See also M to R. Tate, 3 February 1881.
but that again verges very closely to E. Brownii. What you sent as doubtfully as = , Steetz. The Hakea = H. multilineata, Meissner.

You shall have the exact name of all the lichens after careful examination

I find just now from the examination of an original specimen of the West Austr. , that it was wrongly combined with T. recurva;

I have now a new number of the fragmenta passing through the press, which will give you some more data also on S.A. plants. Thus the name has to be restored, as the original A. sublanata is quite different
