Would it be possible, dear Dr Hooker, that I could be obliged with a box ful of roots of ? Perhaps Prof Asa Gray would help in the matter.

This plant in its marvellous effect on the circulation prevents the fibrin-deposits in aneurism & reduces these in an extraordinar manner. I would like therefore to cultivate the plant in Australia. Perhaps might be had at the same time. Pray do not forget a few roots of Eriophorum polystachy[ar]um.
