Am Postschluss, verehrter Herr, bleibt nur ein Augenblick, um Ihnen für die mit dem Göteborg gesandten schönen Sachen innig zu danken. Die Algen u die scandinav. Phanerog. sind wahrhaft prachtvoll ! so auch Dr Fries herrliche Flechten. Ich muss eine grosse Kiste bald für Sie füllen u für Ihre ausgezeichnet. wissenschaftl. Landesgenossen u habe dafür die Vertauschung ebenfalls von den Vögeln bewerkstelligt, wie Sie aus beigefügtem Brief ersehen. Leider hat Prof. McCoy die Namen der Vögel nicht hinzugefügt, so werde ich es wohl selbst thun.

The algae and the Scandinavian phanerogams are truly magnificent , as are Dr Fries's splendid lichens. I must soon fill a large case for you and your excellent scientific friends. I have also managed to facilitate the exchange for the birds, as you can see from the enclosed letter.
