The file includes C. Ledger to M, 22 October 1859, and also a letter that Michael Fitzpatrick, Department of Lands and Public Works, Sydney, wrote to the Superintendent of Alpacas, Goulburn, NSW [i.e. Ledger] on 28 June 1859: 'Referring to your letter of 13th May last, I am directed to inform you that the Executive Council have approved of a Male Alpaca being lent to the proprietors of the Llama flock in Melbourne, as requested by the Reverend Mr Bleasdale, on the conditions that it shall be returned when demanded, and that particulars of the success, or, otherwise attending its introduction be communicated to the Government of this Colony from time to time, of which Mr Bleasdale has been apprised, as well as that you will deliver the animal to any one furnished with authority to receive the same.'
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your most obedient and humble servant
Ferd. Mueller.
