In compliance with orders from the Honorable the Secretary for Lands I beg to advise
that the "City of Sydney" will convey to you under the conditions expressed in the
Copy of instructions forwarded to me and herewith enclosed, a Male Alpaca of purest
breed.
The animal will be attended to during the voyage by a competent person and by him
held at your disposal. The expences incurred by me in taking the animal to Sydney,
shipment, and those of the party in charge I will furnish note of to Sir Charles Nicholson
Bart, with whom I had the honor of holding a conversation on the subject, said honorable
Baronet agreeing with myself on the desirability of a fit person taking charge of
the animal to it's destination.
