della comunicazione fattami col Rapporto No 261 di questa serie relativamente alla scoperta di un Lago Salato nel centro dell'Australia, al quale è stato imposto il nome di Amedeo, in onore del giovane Principe di Casa Savoja.

Questo gentile pensiero è riescito assai gradito a S.M. il Re, al quale ho avuto l'onore di comunicare la notizia suaccenata di cui è stato al tempo stesso informata la Società Geografica Italiana.

Prego pertanto la S.V. a voler compiacersi di manifestare al barone Von Mueller il Sovrano gradimento e quello del Ro Governo per l'omaggio reso in coteste lontane e progredite contrade al nome di uno dei nostri Principi, insieme alle nostre congratulazioni per l'effettuate scoperte geografiche.

Gradisca i sensi della mia distinta considerazione.

I thank You for the communication made to me with the Report No 261 in the current series, regarding the discovery of a salt lake in the centre of Australia that has been given the name Amedeo in honor of the young Prince of the House of Savoy.

This thoughtful gesture has greatly pleased H.M. the King, to whom I have had the honor of conveying the aforementioned report. At the same time, I have notified the Italian Geographical Society.

I therefore would ask you to please convey to Baron von Mueller the appreciation of His Majesty and His Government for the tribute paid in the name of one of our Princes in those far-flung and progressive territories, together with our congratulations on the geographic discovery that has been made there.

Please accept the assurance of my distinguished regard.
