Werther Herr Krichauff

Ihren Brief vom 18t April mit Einlage von £17 habe ich richtig erhalten, und konnte den Abend nicht mehr antworten, weil die Post zu spät gekommen. —

Ueber die weitere Verpachtung des Landes der 40 Acker, hat mein Bruder mir keine Instructionen gegeben, — und handeln Sie daher wie es nach Ihrem Gutdünken scheint, — hoffentlich werden wir in Zukunft wenigstens 10/- pr Acker bekommen. Wenn Sie keinen Pächter bekommen können für 1 Jahr, verpachten Sie es nur ruhig auf mehrere. Ich habe vorige Woche von Melbourne gehört, dass mein Bruder seine Stelle wieder bekommen wird, sobald er returnirt und in dem Falle wird es ihm sicher lieb sein, wenn das Land verpachtet ist. — Aber handeln Sie natürlich nach ihrem eigenen Gutdünken. —

Die Stadtacker in New-Hamburg liegen No 23 und 24 — Theil von der Section 2607 in der Angas Special Survey — der Stadtacker in Tanunda No 11 — Ich bin im Besitz der Deeds

Ich habe auch den Contract mit Herrn Stein in Händen, — Land, Haus und Fenz sind nach Verlauf der Pachtzeit in vollkommen guten Zustande abzuliefern

Dass ich Unterzeichnete von Herrn Krichauff die Summe von £34 für Rente erhalten habe bescheinige ich hiermit.

Esteemed Mr Krichauff,

I received your letter with the enclosed £17/-/- safely, but could not reply the same evening, as the mail arrived too late.

My brother has not given me any instructions concerning the further leasing of the 40 acres of land.

Two adjacent holdings each of 20 acre at Bugle Ranges, SA (Gemmell (1975).

Proceed therefore as you think best. I hope that in future we will be able to get at least 10 shillings per acre. If you cannot find a tenant for one year, it will be alright for you to lease it for several years. I have heard from Melbourne last week, that my brother will get his position back as soon as he returns,

M was away on the North Australian Exploring Expedition under A. C. Gregory. The source of Bertha's information is not known.

and in that case will probably be glad, if the land has been leased. But of course you should act as you think best.

The town allotments in New-Hamburg are No 23 and 24, part of Section 2607 in the Angas Special Survey;

New Hamburg was 2 km south of present-day Strathalbyn, SA; its name was changed to Willyaroo in 1916.

the town allotment in Tanunda is No 11. I have the title deeds.

I also have here the contract with Mr Stein; land, house and fence are to be handed back in good condition after the lease expires.
