Letter not found. MS is a summary prepared by Charles Daley of a letter, the whereabouts of which is no longer known.
[In December 1852 Wehl wrote to Clara at Adelaide from Campbells Creek. 'He mentions the arrival of her brother Dr Mueller and speaks of the Creek valley being very green. "One sees nothing of the shafts. People come to this spot on account of the water for washing their clothes and gold washing. It is quiet and orderly. Many respectable families dwell here at present. It has pleased your brother so badly up to the present that he has determined to go away as soon as possible. ... I wish very much that your brother might obtain the position of Government Botanist; then he could devote himself without hindrance to his pet study. It is to be hoped that it will soon be decided ...".']
