Cher Monsieur,
J’ai reçu en même temps que votre lettre du 27 Juillet la petite boîte contenant des
oeufs d’Oiseaux australiens que vous destinez au Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle et que
vous aviez confiée à la poste. — Je m’empresse de vous en remercier, grâce à vous,
nous aurons bientôt une très belle collection oologique de la Nouvelle Hollande tandis
qu’avant vos envois nous étions fort pauvres. — M. Lacroix est en ce moment en voyage,
mais, avant son départ il m’a fait part de la satisfaction qu’il avait eue à recevoir
les minéraux de Broken Hill que vous lui avez offerts.

Dear Sir,
I received at the same time as your letter of 27 July
the little box containing eggs of Australian Birds destined for the Museum of Natural
History that you had consigned to the post. — I hasten to thank you for it; thanks
to you, we shall soon have a very beautiful oological collection from New Holland
whereas before your sendings we were very poor. — Mr Lacroix is travelling at the
moment but before he left he shared with me his satisfaction at receiving the minerals
from Broken Hill that you had offered him.
