Cher Monsieur,
(Australie).
Paris, 10 July 1896
Dear Sir,
I have received the two little boxes containing the eggs you have been so obliging as to send me for our Museum collection — I found a large number of them very interesting for our galleries and I very much appreciate your thus enriching our institution.

M sent more than one collection of eggs to Paris in 1896. These may have been in the general collections for the Museum announced in M to A. Milne-Edwards, 21 March 1896 as planned to be sent on the Armand Behic. The vessel left Melbourne on 28 March 1896 (Age (Melbourne) 30 March p. 4) and arrived in Marseilles on 26 April (Age (Melbourne) 29 April, p. 5). The next surviving letter, M to A. Milne-Edwards, 13 June 1896, mentions the March Armand Behic sailing as well as announcing another set of eggs to be sent. Those were probably those men tioned in M to A. Milne-Edwards, 27 July 1896, as being sent by mail, and acknowledged as received in A. Milne-Edwards to M, 1 September 1896.
I am, Dear Sir, with the greatest respect,
The Director of the Museum,
Baron Von Mueller, Director of the Botanic Garden of Melbourne. (Australia).
