Under Secretary.
Sir.
I have the honor to inform you, that I received a letter quite recently from the Ural
Science Society, dated Katharinenburg 14 April 1896,
in which communication the save arrival of the Books, transmitted from here through
the Agent Generals Office in London is acknowledged
This distinguished Society acknowledges the generosity of the Victorian Government
in the following words, "The active protection given by your high colonial Government
to scientific researches and publications cannot be praised enough by all scientists
of the world! We should be very happy to prove in any way our gratefulness to your
high Governments munificence". These expressions are quite voluntary and it may be
pleasing to the honorable the Minister to hear also these sentiments.
