Let me inform you, dear Director Milne Edwards that the genial Consul General for
France, the Chev. Dejardin, has kindly offered to send in his next mail-bag a parcel
of mine to Paris, so that I will send some more eggs of Birds of rare species to you,
as in all probability the great Museum is as yet not fully supplied with these kinds
of specimens, it being so difficult to name such eggs with specific accuracy Tell
me kindly, whether such aviora are acceptable. I may avail myself of the Consul Generals
kindness also in future. The two Boxes, which went by the Armand Behic several weeks
ago,
will probably have arrived safely, and the contents proved to you and Prof Lacroix
worthy of inserting into your vast treasures Merely a
postcard
is quite sufficient, to let me know, whether any sending
safely
arrived. Cases may get
broken
or damaged by seawater on so long a voyage. With best greeting to you and your Colleagues
