Nur weinige Worte diesmal, geehrter Herr Geheimrath, um Ihnen mitzutheilen, dass der Rasen der Zwerg abgeschickt werden wird mit dem deutschen Lloyd-Dampfschiff, welches nahe dem Ende von Juni Port Phillip verlassen wird, und daher Ende Juli in Bremen erwartet werden kann in Bremen. Ich werde die Fracht bis dahin bezahlen, da aber alle solche Sendungen aus meinen Privat Mitteln gemacht werden müssen, so könnten Sie wohl die Bremer Spediters Kosten u die geringe Fracht nach Berlin aus den Ihnen zur Verfügung stehenden Staats Mitteln berichtigen.

Diese Pflanze erfordert Sumpf-Moorwiesen Erde, etwa solche auf welchen u bei Ihnen dort wachsen. Der Rasen sollte nicht zerbrochen werden, da die Wurzeln zusammengehören, auch der Effect der Pflanze im Gewächshaus nur durch die Mehrzahl der Ähren auffallend sein wird.

Kann ich der deutschen bot. Gesellschaft in besonderer Weise dienstbar sein.

Only a few words this time, esteemed Geheimrath, to tell you that the sod of the dwarf will be sent off with the German Lloyd steamer that will leave Port Phillip near the end of June and therefore can be expected in Bremen at the end of July.

In M to A. Engler, 4 October 1895, M offered to send a large 'coherent mass' of Xanthorraea minor, and asked to what port is should be sent. Engler evidently accepted the offer and confirmed that Bremen would be the appropriate port.

I will pay the freight to there, but because all such shipments must be made from my private means, you can probably pay the costs of the Bremen shipping agent and the trifling cartage to Berlin from the State funds at your disposal.

This plant requires swamp-marsh meadow soil, for example such from which grow and with you there. The sod should not be broken because the roots belong together, also the effect of the plant in the hot-house will only be striking through the large number of the spikes.

Can I be of service to the German Botanical Society in a special way.
