The minutes of the Council meeting on 1 April 1896 recorded the receipt of a request
from M for marram grass seed (Minute book, 1890-4, p. 53, Borough of Portland). At
the meeting on 6 May, a letter from M was reported, expressing his thanks for the
seed that had been sent; see M to T. Henry, May 1896 (in this edition as 96-05-00d).
