Sir,
I have the honor to inform you that His Excellency the Governor in Council has been
pleased to order that your services as Government Botanist be retained in the Public Service until the 30th June next.

It was a requirement for the continued employment of officers aged 60 and above that the Givernment certify that the service of the officer was essential and seek the approval of the Governor in Council. M had
last been renewed to 31 March 1896, see W. Callaway to M, 4 January 1896.
