In zwei Päckchen erhalten Sie, geehrter Herr Professor, abgeblichene und daher fast werthlose Pflanzen diesmal, aber die Abrolhos-Inseln nahe Champion-Bay scheinen die nördliche Grenze der Algen S. W. Australiens zu sein, denn ich konnte persönlich an der Shark-Bay 1877 fast gar keine Algen finden. Daher sende ich Ihnen diese Exemplare aus phytogeographischen Rücksichten. Ich werde den Sammler veranlassen bessere Exemplare herbei zuschaffen auch zarte kleine Algen, sollten solche überhaupt an den Abrolhos vorkommen. Sie werden gewiss empfinden, dass ich mir grosse Mühe gebe und keine Kosten scheue diese Pflanzen und andere Algen Ihnen zu liefern Sie glauben kaum dass diese wenigen Algen mir etwa £1 also 2 Dukaten kosten in Fracht &c &c

seem to be the northerly boundary of the algae of south-west Australia, since I could personally find almost no algae at all at Shark Bay in 1877.

gathers better specimens, also delicate small algae should such generally occur on the Abrolhos. You will undoubtedly feel that I am giving myself great trouble and sparing no expense to deliver these plants and other algae to you. You will scarcely think that these few algae cost me about £1 therefore 2 Ducats in freight &c &c.
