MS is a printed invitation, addressed to 'Monsieur Ferdinand De Mueller Barone e Console
d'Italia Melbourne (Australia)'. To this, someone, presumably a postal official, has
added 'St Kilda'. Attached to the invitation is a two-page handwritten chronology,
in English, of Negri's career, and his card: "Il Barone Cristoforo Negri/ Senatore
del Regno/ Ministro di Stato/ Firenze — 10, Via Leonardo da Vinci/ Villa d'Istria".

N.B. Il trasporto della Salma sara fatto Venerdi 21 corrente alle ore 16, dalla Casa d'abitazione,
Via Leonardo da Vinci, 10, alla Misericordia, di dove proseguira alla Stazione ferroviaria
per Torino col treno Via Genova N. 72, per essere tumulata nella Cappella gentilizia.
Carlotta Gatti widow Negri, engineer Sir Luigi Negri, Antonio Moscioni Negri, Member
of Parliament, Guiseppina and Giulio Cesare Moscioni Negri joined in deep sorrow have
the painful duty of announcing to you the sudden death of, respectively, their brother-in-law,
uncle, father-in-law and grandfather
Baron Cristoforo Negri
Minister of State and Senator of the Kingdom, founding President of the Italian Geographical
Society, honorary Member of the principal Geographical Societies of Europe and America
and of the principal Italian and foreign scientific Academies, which happened today
at 1.50 pm through cardiac arrest.
Florence, 18 February 1896.
N.B.The transporting of the body will take place on Friday 21st of the current [month]
at 4 pm, from the place of residence, Via Leonardo da Vinci, 10, to the Misericordia,
from where it will continue to the railway station for Turin by train via Genova
No. 72, to be interred in the family chapel.
