Williamson specimens of the named species are in MEL, collected in 1896 but without a month given, the last two under synonyms (AVH, accessed 25 June 2022). The fragment is dated accordingly. The specimen with number 444 now in MEL is said to have been collected on 14 September 1897 and if so cannot be the one M saw.

In Williamson's note on what appears to be the specimen involved (MEL 0535670), the collection number that M has read as 418 is not at all clear. In the digitized record, it has been read as 438 but it could equally well be read as 408. There is no other Williamson specimen from this period bearing any of these numbers.
