is indigenous to countries at the Mediterranean Sea, and reaching England, though perhaps only as an immigrated plant. Like all other Euphorbiae it is very poisonous, and therefore the pulling up of this dangerous weed is desirable wherever it occurs. As it is a perennial, the root comes readily away from the soil. Some rag should be used in dislodging the plant to protect the hands from the poisonous sap, unless a hoe be used.
